If you've been paying attention to the news recently, then you know that Audi has been flirting with autonomous driving for a while now. Well, things are getting pretty serious, and at the 2017 IIA conference, the Audi A8 made its show premiere in Frankfurt, while Audi debuted two new concept vehicles, showing how it intends to pursue the future of autonomous driving. One is named Audi Elaine and it's an electric-powered SUV coupe destined for a more autonomous roadway; the other is Audi Aicon, a four-door concept designed without a steering wheel or pedals—its aim is to show what the future of driving will really look like.

The Audi A8 is the first production vehicle with the permit for conditional automated driving on public roads. In certain situations, A8 drivers will be able, for the first time ever, to hand over the reins to their vehicles. This is a huge step forward in making autonomous driving the way the future moves!
